El popular videojuego Tetris da nombre a la serie en la que se inscriben las obras Color Mix, Tetris Siglo XVII y Alcázar, e inspira a las estructuras que les dan forma. Los volúmenes paralelepípedos revestidos de azulejos de diferentes tipologías* son cruzados y serpenteados por tubos y protuberancias de ganchillo y tejidos variados. Los colores reproducidos en los azulejos son mimetizados en los volúmenes textiles que los envuelven. La rigidez de la cerámica no impide la evasión de los suaves cuerpos textiles, cuyas formas orgánicas contrastan con los bloques angulares de las estructuras revestidas de azulejo. Lo femenino invade y envuelve el territorio de lo masculino para proponer un juego armonioso de contrastes que frustra las expectativas identitarias asociadas a los géneros.

* Los títulos de las obras de la serie Tetris se inspiran habitualmente en las características y motivos de los azulejos aplicados. La mezcla festiva producida por la diversidad de colores de los azulejos de superficies monocromáticas justifica el título Color Mix. Los patrones y motivos pintados de azul y amarillo, característicos de la azulejería portuguesa del s. XVII, identifican la obra Tetris Siglo XVII. El patrón único de líneas que dibujan un laberinto remite al jardín del famoso palacio Real Alcázar de Sevilla e inspira el título, Alcázar, de la tercera obra de la serie Tetris presentada en la Galería Horrach Moya.

The popular electronic game Tetris lends its name to the series to which the works Color Mix, Tetris Siglo XVII and Alcazar belong, while inspiring the structures which shape them. Around different rectangular forms covered in a variety* of tiles, textile tubes and protuberances cross and wind. The colours of the tiles are mimetized in the textile volumes surrounding them. The rigid ceramics cannot prevent the evasion of the soft textile forms, whose organic shapes contrast with the angular blocks that form the structure. The feminine world invades the masculine territory, proposing a harmonious play of contrasts that frustrates the expectations of a gender-based identity.

* The titles of the works in the Tetris series are usually inspired by the tiles’ characteristics and decoration. The festive mixture of colours resulting from the rich palette of the different monochrome tiles justifies the title Colour Mix. The white and blue patterns, typical of the Portuguese azulejos of the 17th century, identify the work Tetris Siglo XVII. The unique pattern of labyrinthian lines resonates the garden of the famed Royal Alcazar de Seville Palace, and inspires the title – Alcazar – of the third work of the Tetris series presented at Galería Horrach Moyà.
