DRAGONERA, 2013
Dragonera, obra de la serie Pinturas de ganchillo, desafía declaradamente el concepto modernista de la autonomía de los diferentes medios artísticos. Pintura y escultura dialogan, invocando simultáneamente el cuerpo y el paisaje, lo figurativo y la abstracción.
A través de volúmenes de ganchillo listados, más o menos alargados y coloridos, marcados por esferas translúcidas pendientes, se insinúa la topografía accidentada de Dragonera – islote perteneciente a las Baleares –, o los cuerpos voluminosos de un inusitado universo burlesco de sentido doméstico.

Part of the Crochet paintings series, Dragonera declaredly challenges the modernist idea that each artistic medium is autonomous. A dialogue between painting and sculpture, simultaneously invoking the body and the landscape, the figurative and the abstract.
The striped crochet volumes, more or less elongated and punctuated by dangling transparent pearls, suggest the rugged topography of Dragonera (an islet in the Baleares Islands), or the voluminous bodies of an unlikely universe that is both domestic and burlesque.
